This report 99 presents the results of SARS-CoV-2 contamination of wastewater at the entrance of the 13 wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) analysed during the week 40 of 2021. The WWTPs of Uebersyren, Hespérange, Bettembourg and Boevange were analysed only once this week.
The SARS-CoV-2 RNA flux measured in WWTPs this week show again a high national prevalence of the virus, with a SARS-CoV-2 flux between 3 and 5 x 1011 RNA copies per day per 100,000 equivalent-inhabitants. The virus RNA level was very similar to that observed during the previous week.
An overall similar pattern is observed for the different wastewater treatment plants analysed, excepted for the WWTP of the North of the country, namely Wiltz and Bleesbruck where slightly increases were detected.
Despite sometimes significant weekly fluctuations, the level of SARS-CoV-2 can be considered to have remained rather constant for several weeks, indicating that the virus is still circulating in the population.
