This report 97 presents the results of SARS-CoV-2 contamination of wastewater at the entrance of the 13 wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) analysed during the week 38 of 2021. The WWTPs of Beggen, Hespérange and Boevange were analysed only once this week.
The SARS-CoV-2 RNA flux measured in WWTPs this week shows a moderate national prevalence of the virus, with a SARS-CoV-2 flux between 1 and 3 x 1011 RNA copies per day per 100,000 equivalent-inhabitants. A significant decrease of the virus circulation was observed at the beginning of the week and, also, at the end of the week. Next week's results will be important to confirm if this trend continues.
An overall similar pattern is observed for the different wastewater treatment plants analysed, with a decrease observed for most of the wastewater treatment plants analysed, excepted for Echternach and Uebersyren where the SARS-CoV-2 signal remains constant in comparison to previous week.
