CORONASTEP Report 93 (Week 34) SARS-CoV-2 Sewage Surveillance in Luxembourg

This report 93 presents the results of SARS-CoV-2 contamination of wastewater at the entrance of the 13
wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) analysed during the week 34 of 2021. The WWTPs of Hespérange,
Boevange, Echternach, Uebersyren and Grevenmacher were analysed only once this week.
This week, the SARS-CoV-2 RNA flux measured in WWTPs shows again a high national prevalence of the virus,
with a SARS-CoV-2 flux around 3 x 1011 RNA copies per day per 100,000 equivalent-inhabitants. The situation
has remained very stable throughout this week and comparable to the end of last week
An overall similar pattern is obtained for the different wastewater treatment plants analysed. However, an
increase in SARS-CoV-2 contamination can be reported at Grevenmacher, while the level of SARS-CoV-2
contamination is decreasing at Wiltz.
