This report 61 presents the results of SARS-CoV-2 contamination of wastewater at the entrance of the 13 wastewater treatment plants during the week 13 of 2021.
The flux of SARS-CoV-2 RNA present in wastewater treatment plants during the week 13 indicates a continued high prevalence of the virus in wastewater nationwide, with a continuous increasing trend from the beginning of the week. The average values at the national level remain, however, still in the same range that those obtained during the last three weeks.
However, it is important to note that significant increases of the SARS-CoV-2 contamination were observed for several wastewater treatment plants, such as Hespérange, Bettembourg, Pétange, Mersch, Grevenmacher, Echternach and Bleesbruck.
Next sampling will confirm or not the observed dynamics.
